BoomerStack Tech that finally makes sense.
For churches and ministries

AI is already in your church. Decide how it's used.

Most pastors don't know for sure how AI is being used in their church, and that's normal, but it's a risk you don't need to carry. Find out anonymously and honestly, then turn what you learn into a written policy your whole staff can follow, so everyone knows where the lines are, and your congregation's trust stays protected.

What pastors are seeing

The numbers

13%

of pastors say they never use AI.1

60%

of church leaders use AI personally every month, but only 33% of churches use it officially.2

21%

of churches have AI guidelines, though 94% of pastors say they should.3

61%

of churchgoers are concerned about AI's influence on Christianity.4

Who's using it in your church? Probably not the person you'd expect. AI is quietly helping with the bulletin, the volunteer email, the social media post, the children's lesson and the small group questions. Often it's a faithful volunteer trying to save time with a free tool nobody has talked about. That's not a failing. It just means nobody has drawn the lines yet.

The cost of doing nothing

What happens when nobody draws the lines

Each of these is something a written AI policy addresses, and each has already happened at churches or to people like the ones in your pews.

Your church, sued over a picture

In 2023, a photographer sued a small United Methodist church in Prosperity, South Carolina, over a mountain photo copied from the internet for a sermon video thumbnail.5 AI image tools make it even easier to post an image without knowing where it came from, and church insurers warn about exactly this.6

Your teaching, checked before it's shared

AI can sound confident while getting a verse, a quote or a point of doctrine wrong. 94% of pastors are concerned about how AI handles Scripture,7 and 84% say AI-written content needs editing for errors.4

Your members' privacy, exposed

A prayer list pasted into a free AI tool to "tidy it up" is stored outside your control. The church insurer Brotherhood Mutual warns ministries to keep personal information out of public AI tools.8

Your children's photos, misused

The FBI has warned that ordinary photos of children posted online can be altered with AI and misused.9 Any church that shares photos of VBS, youth trips or the children's choir needs clear rules for what is posted and what never goes into an AI app.

Your church's work, in someone's personal account

When a staff member or volunteer uses their own free AI account for church work and later moves on, the drafts and member details go with them. A policy keeps church work in accounts the church approves.

Your congregation's trust

70% of pastors worry AI could damage their congregation's trust in them.2 It's far easier to decide how AI fits your ministry now than to explain it after someone finds out.

What you get from a policy

What a written AI policy does for your church

  • Your people stop guessing. Staff and volunteers know what's allowed, what needs a second look, and what's off limits.
  • Private information stays private. Prayer requests, counseling notes, giving records and children's details are named, in writing, as things that never go into AI.
  • Your pulpit stays yours. You decide in advance how AI may help with sermons and lessons, and whether your congregation is told.
  • Your offering has a checkpoint. Money moves only after a call back on a number you already know.
  • You have a clear answer. If something goes wrong, you can show your board, congregation or insurer that your church had clear rules and trained its people.
  • New volunteers learn it on day one. One page and a quick-reference card become part of how every new helper starts.

What a policy doesn't do

A policy won't stop a determined hacker or every scam, and it does nothing if nobody reads it. That's why the workshop doesn't end with a document in a drawer: your staff help write it, so they understand it, and six months later we check that it's working.

The Church AI Policy Workshop

Built on the truth about your church, not assumptions

  1. A 15-minute callwith your pastor about your church's concerns and how you communicate.

  4. Your written policywithin one week, in your church's own words, ready for your board or elders.
  5. A 30-day check-into answer questions once your staff have lived with it.
  6. A six-month follow-upThe same survey again, with a before-and-after report so you can see what changed.

About BoomerStack

Old enough to remember. Patient enough to explain.

For more than 30 years, my work has been helping organizations make technology serve people. I spent over a decade in sales leadership and then as co-founder and president of a technology firm that built call centers and help desks for clients ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Every project started the same way: listening to everyone it would affect, from leadership to the front line. From there we designed the right system, trained the staff, and supported it long after launch.

I then spent 18 years as a senior technical support specialist for a national telecommunications company, solving the problems nobody else could, over the phone, for people who were already frustrated. That taught me that most tech trouble isn't hard; it just hasn't been explained in plain English.

BoomerStack brings both together. I assess before I recommend, I build around how your people really work, and I stay with you after the work is done. Every step is kept simple and explained in plain English.
